Ireland’s Treasures Uncovered

1 x 60min

Ireland’s Treasures Uncovered tells the unexpected stories behind the iconic Irish artefacts that have helped to shape and create modern Ireland, North and South.
With access to Ireland’s two largest museums, in Belfast and Dublin, presenters Professor Alice Roberts and Dr Gavin Hughes bring together archaeologists and curators who have spent their lives working to understand the true context of Ireland’s most iconic treasures.
Together, Alice and Gavin explore well known treasures such as the Tara Brooch and the Broighter Hoard to reveal new stories behind the ancient artefacts we thought we knew. What they uncover reveals as much about the culture of modern Ireland as it does about the ancient world.
